The vortex is an empty, cylindrical shaped filter with a conical bottom. The water from the pond enters the vortex at the bottom and exits at the top. The water is steered in such a way that a constant vortex is maintained which drives heavy dirt particles outward, far away from the central water exit. The water exit is placed in a central position in the upper part of the module because the waterflow is the lowest at that location and the dirt is as far away as possible.
The bottom of the vortex comes with a waste gate which makes it easy to dispose of settled dirt particles. Waterflow is one of the most important aspects of a good working vortex. The lower the water flow the better the large dirt particles will settle. A vortex is seldom to large.
- Filters large dirt particles
- Never gets blocked by dirt
- Easy to maintain
